The Friends of Foundry Wood have organised insect-themed activities, including a mini-beast trail and an opportunity to identify bugs and beasties that live in the wood, this Sunday from 2pm. People of all ages will also be invited to come up with insect-themed designs for two new wooden benches, which will be carved by a chainsaw artist on the following Sunday.

Then the Friends group’s AGM will take place from 4pm, to which anyone is welcome to attend to hear about activities that have taken place over the past year and discuss plans for the year ahead. There will be tea and cake provided, but people are encouraged to bring and share more cake.

Kath Pasteur, of the Friends, said: “We hope that as many people will come along to our afternoon of activities and AGM. We would love to share our progress and plans directly with the woodland users and hear their feedback and ideas.

“We are also very excited about designing our new benches.”
