Strong turn out for Chase Meadow clean up
Residents of all ages joined together to help clean up the Chase Meadow area in Warwick.
The annual litter pick, which was organised by the Chase Meadow Resident’s Association, took place on Saturday.
This is the third year that the event had taken place and around 60 residents, including children came out to help clean up Chase Meadow.
Warwick mayor Christine Cross also attended the event. She said: “Fabulous day for a litter pick on Saturday starting at Chase Meadow Community Centre.
“The event was organised by the Resident’s association and was obviously well advertised as 60 people turned up between 10am and 1pm.
“The amount collected varied depending on where you went but overall it was not as bad as it could have been. The children who took part were very enthusiastic and hopefully all children are being taught by both parents and the schools that it is a much better idea to bin your litter or take it home.
“Chase Meadow is a vibrant community and it is such a pity that some residents don’t care about the environment or their surroundings. Sadly, Chase Meadow is not on it’s own in this respect.”
