Spice up your summer with Warwick’s first Chilli Con Carne Cook-Off to celebrate all things hot.
The contest will form part of the first ever Chilli Festival being put on by Warwick Rocks this summer.
Coming to Market Place on July 3, the volunteer group is hoping to crown the King of the Chillies with the cook-off and blind tasting on the day.
A group spokesperson said: “We want as many people as possible to take part as we launch the very first chilli festival.
“We’ll be looking for a combination of texture, flavour and an element of heat, but a super hot chilli is likely to destroy the flavour so make sure you get the balance right.”
All chilli will be judged by a panel of foodies before being thrown open to a public taste test.
Culinary hopefuls can enter online, and must bring two litres of their special blend of chilli at 11am on the morning of the festival for judging to begin at midday.
The winner will receive the first Warwick Rocks Chilli Con Carne Champion trophy.
