Mike Harrison retired last week after 38 years of serving as treasurer and secretary for the RAFA’s 310 Leamington, Warwick and District Branch.

To mark Mr Harrison’s retirement, gifts from members were presented by RAFA area director John Tisbury (Sqn Ldr RAF retired).

Thanking members, Mr Harrison amused them with recollections of his time in office.

Member Patrick Hall said: “When Mike was appointed, it followed a period of serious financial mismanagement and he and the other committee members at the time were obliged to take emergency measures to avoid the branch being closed. Now, after a lot of dedicated work, he can retire content in the knowledge that for many years the financial situation has been very sound. The search for suitably experienced officers to succeed Mike has not been easy, but his successors, Jennifer Blakemore, treasurer, and Patrick Fitzgerald (Sqn Ldr RAF retired), secretary, were unanimously elected and will begin work immediately.”
