Police are appealing for witnesses after an irreplaceable war medal was stolen in a Leamington burglary

A house in Princes Drive was broken into sometime between 9am on Saturday July 25 and just after midday on Tuesday July 28.

A Second World War campaign medal bearing the image of King George VI was stolen in the burglary. The medal, which resembles a silver coin, dates back to between 1939 and 1945 and has the words “war medal” inscribed on it.

As well as the historic medal, a Sony HD 42 inch flat screen television, a 19 inch Hitachi flat screen television and a gold coloured Shaffer fountain pen were taken.

Warwickshire Police is now appealing for witnesses or any information to help track down those responsible - as well as putting out an appeal for officers to be notified if anybody is offered similar items for sale.

Contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, via 0800 555 111 with information.
