Police search south Warwickshire beauty spot after reports of gunfire

But it turns out that the noise had nothing to do with firearms

Police were called to a south Warwickshire beauty spot after reports of gunfire.

Officers went to investigate the reports at Coombe Abbey Park yesterday evening (Thursday) and confirmed that no firearms were found.

But they did find some used fireworks and they believe people may have mistook the noise for gun shots.

A police spokesperson said: "A search of the area was conducted; no firearms were recovered and no offences recorded.

"Officers did find some used fireworks which may account for the noise."
