Police appeal after woman dies in car crash

The incident took place on the B4455 Fosse Way on Sunday at about 9.15am.

The single vehicle collision involved a grey Land Rover Defender.

The vehicle had been travelling from the direction of Combrook.

The vehicle is believed to have left the carriage way and collided with a tree.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the collision.

As a result of the collision the 45-year-old female driver of the Land Rover sustained injuries that proved to be fatal and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, a young boy, sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment.
