Police appeal after man knocked unconscious in Leamington after altercation with youths

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault near Halikanas take away on Regent Street in Leamington at around 1:05am on Sunday

The victim, a man in his 40s, was walking along Regent Street towards Windsor Street, when he was approached by a group of youths walking in the opposite direction.

A verbal altercation is believed to have taken place which has resulted in the victim being knocked unconscious and leaving him with facial injuries which required hospital treatment.

The group of four youths was described as being aged between 15 and 24.

Two of them were wearing dark clothing and another two were wearing grey jumpers, one of which had a distinctive ‘A’ motif on the back of their jumper.

Investigating officers would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information which could help with their enquiries to telephone them on 101, quoting incident number 29 of 20 March 2016.
