Police appeal after man bitten by dog in Leamington

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old man was bitten by a dog in a Leamington park.

The man was walking in the park on Tuesday July 5 next to Westlea Road when he was approached by a black dog, believed to be a Labrador.

The dog bit the man on his hand and caused enough damage to require hospital treatment. It ran away soon after.

The dog was not on a lead and appeared to be unaccompanied. It is not known who the owner is at this stage.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows who the owner of the dog may be should call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 322 of July 5.
