The 'Warwickshire Tunnel Busters' group is celebrating hitting a membership milestone and to mark the occasion the group admins ate a hat.

The group, which had now hit more than 2,000 members, was created on Facebook and is run by an admin team made up of Jim Griffin, Cheryl Wilkins and Nick Wilkins.

The team from RiVR who have done exploring of tunnels under Warwick have also shared some of their finds on the group.

In celebration of hitting the membership milestone a special cake was created by Cheryl Wilkin - which also had its own story.

A spokesperson from the group said: "We set up the group in May 2015 after a meeting with Adrian King from Guys Cliffe and a few others.

"Nick and Jim made a bet that if they achieved 2,000 members they would eat a hat.

"Over the past year the group has expanded very rapidly due to new information and discoveries coming in from members of the local public.

"We hope to discover more about the tunnels before they are all lost and forgotten about.

"The admins of Warwickshire tunnel busters would like to thank the Harvey brothers and their team at RiVR, Peter Chapman for his research, Adrian King from Guys Cliffe and all the members of the group for sharing their stories and information on the various tunnels of Warwick, Leamington, Radford Semele and other locations in Warwickshire."
