Leamington post office branch closed "until further notice"

The Post Office branch in Bath Street, Leamington, has been closed since last Wednesday (May 22) and "until further notice due to unforeseen circumstances" according to signs on its doors and windows.

Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western has said: “I have been contacted by a number of constituents about this matter.

"Like them, I was shocked to learn of the closure, and am concerned about the impact on those who used this Post Office and the others further out in Leamington, Lillington and Whitnash. I understand that it was not a planned closure and it came as a result of an audit.

"The Post Office tell me they are doing what they can to try to find someone to run the post office on a temporary basis but this will take some time.

"I have written asking them to consider transferring back to the old Crown Post Office on Victoria Terrace, which I understand they still own.”

Customers are being advised to use other branches nearby including the ones at 69 Clarendon Street in Leamington, 9 Stanley Court in Sydenham or in Heathcote Road, Whitnash.

Customer mail is being sent to the sorting office in Priory Terrace, Leamington, and customers are also being advised to track parcels via the Parcelforce Depot in Coventry by calling 03442 096169.
