Is Becky 'the Banksy of Leamington town centre'?

Becky Smith went to King's High School in Warwick and has an established 20-year career working for advertising agencies in London.

She regularly creates and writes adverts for brands such as Pinterest and Fisher-Price.

Frustrated by some of the big brand’s "uninspiring" lockdown messages on white A4 printouts in windows, Becky has rewritten their posters and stuck her creations up.

Becky said: "Leamington is a creative town, yet some big brands aren’t talking to us in engaging ways over lockdown.

"It’s a missed opportunity.

"I wanted to inject some smiles during lockdown, and I'm delighted it has.”

The posters have had a positive response online.

One commenter said: "She’s basically Batwoman - fighting criminal copy one a4 print-out at a time

Another said:"[This is a] Great idea - and strange that so many retailers overlooked the opportunity.

Amd another said: "Love this. Guerilla copywriting. Becky Smith is just one of the many reasons I like living round here.”
