Is Becky 'the Banksy of Leamington town centre'?

A 'guerilla copywriter' has been putting alternative and more upbeat lockdown window posters up on shops in Leamington to lighten the mood in the town centre.

Becky Smith went to King's High School in Warwick and has an established 20-year career working for advertising agencies in London.

She regularly creates and writes adverts for brands such as Pinterest and Fisher-Price.

Frustrated by some of the big brand’s "uninspiring" lockdown messages on white A4 printouts in windows, Becky has rewritten their posters and stuck her creations up.

Becky said: "Leamington is a creative town, yet some big brands aren’t talking to us in engaging ways over lockdown.

"It’s a missed opportunity.

"I wanted to inject some smiles during lockdown, and I'm delighted it has.”

The posters have had a positive response online.
