The Warwickshire Towns Network and BID Leamington are inviting amateur sleuths to become a ‘consulting detective’ as they turn the town centre into a giant Cluedo board for the day.

Players will follow clues, question witnesses and solve puzzles as they investigate the mystery of a vanishing professor.

The game will encourage hundreds of people to get off the sofa and explore the town, including some locations that are usually off-limits to the public.

Casefile: The Mystery of the Star-Eaters is an idea from graphic designer Stephen Blackwell.

He said: “The only way that we could genuinely replicate the feel of an investigation was to transform the centre by hiding the game throughout it and making the whole area part of it.

“That included coordinating with over a dozen buildings, shops and attractions and roping in some brave actors and volunteers. We’ve tried to create something full of adventure, mystery and, most importantly, fun.”

The game itself will take between two and three hours to play but it will be running continuously throughout the day so players can stop and start whenever they choose.

Participants are advised to play in teams of between two and six to fully enjoy the experience although there is no limit on numbers.

Families are also being encouraged to play with free entry for under 12s and a mini-mystery game for them to play concurrently.

Tickets cost £12 and there is a £2 discount code for every adult ticket purchased by entering RLS2OFF when booking in advance from here.
