Man charged in court over Southam car park assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was attacked in a Southam car park at the weekend.

The victim was in the Wood Street car park at 4pm on Saturday April 16 when she was assaulted, leaving her with injuries to her arms, neck and chest.

Police believe the man behind the attack knew the victim, and she was helped by a group of men who intervened during the incident.

Officers would like to hear from these men, or from anyone who witnesses the assault. Contact them on 101 with information.

Stuart Arthur Macaulay aged 40 of Central Drive in Bishops Itchington was arrested in connection with the incident.

He has been since charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and making threats to kill.

He appeared before Warwickshire Magistrates on April 18, and will reappear for a second hearing on May 20.
