A renowned Kenilworth chef has been commended after scooping Chef of the Year at the Craft Guild of Chef’s latest award ceremony.
Adam Bennett from The Cross was commended by the awards body, now in its 50th year at a ceremony in London earlier this year.
Hosted in front of renowned and celebrity chefs, the ceremony saw Adam praised following his success competing in the world’s most prestigious chef’s competition the Bocuse d’Or in 2013 and 2015.
Adam is the most successful candidate to date having won the Best Meat prize and achieving fourth position in 2013 - leaving him just six points away from a place on the podium.
Speaking about the honour, he said: “The Craft Guild of Chefs is a fantastic organisation and I’m delighted to have won the Competition Chef of the Year award.
“Taking part in the Bocuse d’Or was an experience that I’ll never forget.
“However, it’s great to now have the time back to focus on my family and of course life at The Cross.”
