Soroptimists welcomed a new president when Elaine Clarke took over the role for the next 12 months.

Elaine, who joined the women’s group three years ago, will chair on the theme of ‘Empowering Women’.

She said she was “delighted” to have the opportunity to build on the club’s strong links and support groups including the women’s refuge.

In her inaugural speech, Elaine said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity and as president I hope to build on the strong links the Kenilworth and District Soroptimists have in the town.”

During Elaine’s year on a local level the club will continue to support the women’s refuge and Look Good, Feel Better – a cancer support charity.
