Balvinder 'Bally' Gahir was known to many as a kind and caring person.

Yet her left was cut short in the most terrible way.

Her ex-husband, Jasbinder Gahir, controlled and manipulated her over many years - and then one night he beat her to death as she lay in her bed.

He remained unremorseful through the trial and lied continuously. But yesterday (Wednesday April 28) he was found guilty of her murder - and today (Thursday April 29) he was sentenced to a minimum of 28 years in jail.
