A man has been arrested after a police chase in Leamington when a driver sped through red lights and on the wrong side of the road.

The driver eventually dumped the vehicle and fled on foot before being arrested in Cottage Close.

Police said the pursuit happened in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) and that a 55-year-old man from Coventry has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

He was later released under investigation while enquires continue.
