Driver in Kenilworth fights off robbers who ambushed him and tried to steal his car

A driver in Kenilworth managed to fight off robbers who ambushed him and tried to steal his car.

The victim suffered minor injuries but managed to drive away.

But the robbers did manage to steal a blue and white sports bag.

The incident happened in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday May 12) at about 2.20am in Dalehouse Lane, near the junction with Common Lane, in Kenilworth.

Three men stopped the driver of a black BMW and then tried to steal the vehicle.

Police said an 'altercation' then followed and the driver managed to drive away with minor injuries.

The robbers were seen heading in the direction of Watling Road.

Officers are asking for information and appealing for witnesses or CCTV footage.
