A six-year-old chess prodigy has taken the UK championships by storm after winning the U7’s Megafinal.
Crackley Hall pupil, Sarthak Sanyal beat all six of his competitors at the day-long championship to be crowned Megafinal Supremo at the competition in Warwick..
Sarthak, who has been playing since the age of four, and is always first to the board when he gets to school to challenge his friends to a game.
Though he said his next big challenge is to find a way to beat his 11-year-old brother.
“I love playing the game because it’s fun,” he said.
“I still can’t beat my brother but I’m working on it!”
