The lighter side of Thomas Hardy's work was celebrated at a musical evening in Cubbington.
The event at the Methodist church hall featured music and dance with performances by the Milverton folk dancing group and Immanuel's Ground West Gallery Quire from Warwick.
Margaret Grantham, chairman of the Coventry and Warwickshire Thomas Hardy Society which organised the event, said: "It proved to be highly successful and enjoyable.
"Thomas Hardy is not generally associated with fun – but this proved to be the exception with its emphasis on the comic side of Hardy's work. He was an accomplished violinist with a great love of music and dance."
