Saturday May 28 to Monday May 30, St Mary’s church, Warwick: Good Queen Bess Fest in partnership with the Lord Leycester Hospital, Kenilworth Castle and Charlecote Park, with free shuttle bus service between the venues, following the route taken by Queen Elizabeth I. Good Queen Bess and her entourage will process from The Globe,Theatre St, Warwick to St Mary’s at 11 am on Saturday and Monday and at 1pm on Sunday. Join the procession then enjoy tea, coffee and home-made cakes at St Mary’s pop-up café, open until 4pm all weekend. Admission to St Mary’s costs £3.50 for adults, £2.50 for concessions and nothing for under-16s. Call 403940.

Until Saturday May 28, Priory Theatre, Kenilworth: The Lion in Winter, a modern classic comedy drama based on the live of Henry II, comes to the Priory Theatre. The play centres on the personal and political conflicts of Henry II of England, his wife Eleanor of Aquitaine, their children and guests during Christmas at Chinon in 1183. Tickets start at £8. Chedham’s Yard, Church Walk, Wellesbourne, 10am to 2pm: Find out about the life and work of this heritage blacksmith’s and wheelwright’s yard by joining a guided tour. The Yard won the BBC’s Restoration Village programme ten years ago and offers a rare glimpse of rural life and crafts during the time that five generations of the Chedham’s family ran the Yard. This will be a ‘bicycle theme day’ with a local bike club member on site to talk to enthusiasts . Also on offer, courtesy of the Police and Neighbourhood Watch, is the opportunity for free security marking for your bike or small hand tools. St Mary’s church, Warwick, 7.30pm: Local a cappela choir Da Capo are performing in Warwick as part of the St Mary’s Shakespeare 400 season. Their programme Such Stuff As Dreams is exclusively based on the words of William Shakespeare. Da Capo will be joined by actors Amanda Root (Persuasion, The Iron Lady) and Anton Lesser (The Hollow Crown, Wolf Hall, Game of Thrones, Dickensian), who will provide the spoken word in passages taken from the King James Bible and the Shakespeare First Folio, both on display in St Mary’s.
