Six Kenilworth Runners took the trip to Wyre Forest for the Pulse Pursuits Dirtrun 10k.

A very wet, muddy course, with a stream crossing and some steep climbing awaited the entrants and Simon Mottershead made the tactical decision at the course split to complete the 5k race instead of the 10k option.

He was therefore shocked when he was announced at the prize giving as the second- placed senior male in 39:51.

The remaining five Kenilworth entrants continued on with the 10k route, with Stewart Underhill first MV40 in 51:52.

Selected others: Richard Broadbent (52:43): Mike Scandrett (53:00); Stef Lunn (58:12); Sheela Hobden (65:38).
