It was a surprise to many when the pitch was deemed playable by the referee and conditions deteriorated further as the match progressed and the pitch tore up.

Three times Pershore took the lead courtesy of JamieClarke (2) and Steve Webb and three times Racing pegged them back, twice in the first half.

Joe Wright scored Racing Club’s first after some fine wing play from Zak Harbon who picked him out to slot the ball into the corner.

Wright’s second was a clever little hook shot but it seemed Pershore would take the points as Racing huffed and puffed in the second half without reward.

However, a magnificent free-kick from Alex Price rescued a point for the home side with five minutes remaining to leave Racers sixth in the table.

Racing Club travel to struggling Pelsall Villa tomorrow (3pm).
