A short corner caught Hibs napping to allow Stratford to half the deficit with five minutes remaining, but the visitors deservedly held on, much to the delight of player-coach Rich Kay.

“We have not played for three-and-a-half weeks but the energy levels and ball retention from start to finish was top quality,” said Kay.

“FC Stratford were the current team of the month and beat the leaders Barnt Green Spartak convincingly recently, so to dominate and create the number of chances we did was pleasing.

“To a man everyone was excellent and the impact the subs made was also good to see.”
