Chadwick End lift league cup against the odds

Chadwick End upset the odds with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over league leaders Warwick Wanderers in the Division 2 Cup Final.

End, who are languishing at the bottom of the league, took an early lead through Tom Sutheran’s free kick and they went 3-0 up midway through the second half .

Wanderers pulled one back through Kurt Parsons only to concede a decisive fourth as they pressed forward.

Sutheran got a second and Ross Jackson also scored twice for the winners.

Last week’s Division 3 Cup winners Stockton are through to the semi- final of the Unison Challenge Cup thanks to a thrilling 5-3 victory Kenilworth Town.

Tim Cooper (2), Louis Currell, George Bousfield and Steven Boss were on target for Stockton while Daniel Cornes, Daniel Long and Daniel Morris scored for Town.

Holders Westlea Wanderers had an easy passage to the final.

Goals from Luke Cole (3), Josh Cole (2), Craig Watkin, Lee Scott, Jamie Coleman and manager Ian Billington gave them a 9-0 win over Harbury Albion.

Division 2 side Bishops Itchington are through to the final of the George Dutton Cup with a 3-1 win over Real Barston of Division 4.

Joe French, Tom Cooper and Tom Cross netted for Bishops who also scored an own goal.

Divison 1’s bottom team Radford Semele, who in midweek lost 3-0 to Westlea Wanderers (Ryan Billington (2) and Josh Cole) picked up a useful point at second-placed Leamington Royals.

Matt Anderson and Seb Rockliffe scored Radford’s goals while Callum Yeates scored twice for Royals in the 2-2 draw.

Sam Turner and James Urquhart put Whitnash 2-0 up before Leamington Hibernian fought back to win 4-2 with goals from Terry Bayliss, Graham Bickerdyke and Alan Robinson.

Khalsa earned a point with a 3-3 draw at Kenilworth Wardens but remain in the drop zone.

Mid-Warwickshire Policee took over top spot in Division 2 with a walloping 8-0 win over Westlea Wanderers reserves who could only field nine men.
