Leamington Football Club and Calor Gas Ltd have announced the renewal of a £20,000 two-year sponsorship agreement which will see the energy company continue to back the club’s community scheme during 2013-2014.
After sponsoring the community scheme in 2011-2012, Calor will continue to support the club’s health programmes and well-being initiatives, with the intention of motivating, inspiring and facilitating people through sport.
The community scheme delivers sports participation, education, health awareness and social inclusion initiatives.
The programmes aim to both increase awareness of health and well-being and extend opportunities to participate in football and physical activity to people of all ages, regardless of fitness level or ability.
The official renewal of the partnership took place at Brakes’ home clash with Gosport, with Calor presenting a cheque for £20,000 to the club.
Leamington chairman Jim Scott said the partnership would enable the club to build on the good work they have already done in the community.
“We want to engage with the local community through the power of football and the club brand to provide physical, personal and social development opportunities for people of all ages,” said Scott.
“We are very pleased that Calor have chosen to continue their sponsorship and the club remains keen to work together with Calor to improve the health and well-being of the local community.”
Stephen Rennie, Calor’s managing director, added: “Calor is delighted to be able to continue supporting Leamington FC’s community scheme and make a real difference to local residents by facilitating sport.
“Calor hopes the continued partnership will allow the club to further maximise their investment and impact on the community.”
The community scheme aims to deliver a number of projects in Leamington and surrounding area over the next two years.
As a result of previous sponsorship, the club delivered a new healthy walking scheme and opened a football coaching programme.
