The districts bowls fans will get to see the best of Britains emerging female talent at Victoria Park later this year.

The 2013 British Isles Women’s Bowls Council Junior International Series and Championships will now be held at Victoria Park, Leamington, on the weekend of July 20-21.

The event, which features the top young women players from across Britain, was due to be staged in Ireland, but due to unforeseen circumstances a change of venue was requested.

Players are now expected to arrive in Leamington for practice sessions on Friday July 19, followed by the International Series throughout Saturday and Sunday morning, and concluding with the British Junior Championships on Sunday afternoon.

Tony Allcock MBE, Bowls England chief executive, said: “It is unfortunate that Ireland are unable to host the event as originally planned, particularly for many who may have already made travel plans, our own team and officials included.

“However, thanks to the co-operation of Warwick District Council and Royal Leamington Spa BC we were pleased to be able to offer the facilities at Victoria Park to the BIWBC, and we now look forward to welcoming players and spectators from all teams later this summer.”
