Andrews is guaranteed pole position in the East Midlands Grand Prix Series

The win gave her an unassailable lead in the L4V0 category in the overall East Midlands Grand Prix Race Series, with one race to go.

Barry Elkington was next to finish for Kenilworth (124th and 3rd V60) in a time of 45:54.

Martin Lambert was 146th in 47:22, with Tom Dable fourth V65 in 55:38 and Pauline Dable first LV65 in 59:07.

The race was won by Elisha De Mello of Rugby and Northampton in 33:48.

There were 318 finishers.

Kenilworth Runners’ Martin Belcher went back to the land of his fathers to run the Swansea Half Marathon.

The route started in the city centre before heading off around Swansea Bay to The Mumbles where it turned back along the cycleway next to the beach.

The flat course and good weather made it a day for fast times.

Belcher finished 464th out of the 4,280 runners (6th MV60) in 1:38:02.

The race was won by Dewi Griffiths in 65:38 and the first female home was Hannah Walker in 74:31 – both course records.

Six Spa Striders competed at Leamington C&AC Club Championship and invitation 5,000m race.

With the Striders more familiar with road races than track events, PBs fell dramatically on the night, with Paul Edwards (17:39), Steve Taylor (18:14), Dan Fleming (18:33), Alistair Geddes (19:46), Natalie Carroll (20:48) and Andrew Pope (21:13) all setting new best marks.

Leamington C&AC teenager Dan Wilkinson won the A race in 16:05, with clubmate Phil Gould 17 seconds back in second.

Kev Hope (16:32) was in third place for Kenilworth Runners, with C&AC’s Dean Mawby (16:46) also dipping below 17 minutes.

Leamington’s Eoin O’Flynn won the B race in 18:22, with Natalia Bhangal (18:57) just pipping clubmate Kelly Edwards (19:03) for the honour of first female.

Spa Striders’ James Browne completed the brutal Celtman triathlon, an extreme event in Scotland, in 17hr 58min.

The course comprised a 3.8k swim in Loch Sheildaig, a 202k cycle across the Highlands and a 42k marathon course which took competitors over two Munros.

This final section is only open to athletes who meet a strict cut-off time.

In doing so and then successfully negotiating the course, Browne took home the coveted blue T-shirt for the event and also raised more than £2,000 for Marie Curie Care.

Kenilworth Runners’ Jane Phillips donned a pink tutu and joined thousands of women to take part in the Race for Life 5k at Stoneleigh Park, finishing in sixth position in 23:57.

Leamington C&AC’s Paul Okey ventured back home for the Humber Bridge Half Marathon, finishing 60th out of 1,800 runners on the tough course in 1:28:56.

Leamington C &AC’s Dean Mawby was the first runner over the line at Leamington parkrun on Saturday, knocking 19 seconds off his personal best to finish in 17min 3sec.

Team-mates Dan Wilkinson and Jack Savage were second and third home in 17:28 and 18:29, respectively.

Katherine Gundersen of Woodford Green AX with Essex Ladies was first female over the line in 19:51.

The fifth pink parkrun, which saw some runner complete the course four times, raised £700 for Breast Cancer Now.
