Once again, Warwick District Council is showing its true colours with doubts being thrown up about further development of Leamington FC's Harbury Lane Ground.
This is the same council who allowed the first club to wither, by firstly allowing the Tachbrook Road ground to be built on, then putting obstacles in the way whenever a new site was proposed .

The very same council though will give full support to Racing Club Warwick because they carry the council's name. Leamington have done more for the district in the seven years since their reformation as a playing club than Racing Club have managed in their entire history.

I'm not trying to demean Racing Club in any way because they do a great job at their level. Leamington FC are now at an entirely different one to Saltisford Rovers (RCW's oroginal name to the uninitiated) and to be able to push on to an even higher level, they require additional facilities.

WDC should back them to the hilt as it becomes more of a community club, (Leamington Lions Ladies FC) being the latest tie up. Does the council wish to settle for mediocrity?

Which a restricted development will mean, or do they want the town really on the map with a football team that has the potential to reach the Football League in the future.
