Purple cauliflower, hand-made chocolate brownies and traditional cider were some of the delights on offer at the Leamington Food and Drink Festival.
Around 10,000 people gathered to browse the variety of stalls set up by more than 50 Leamington businesses at the Pump Room Gardens on Saturday and Sunday - with some more unusual tasting samples including banana and chilli chutney, strawberry-infused balsamic vinegar and parsley and walnut pesto.

Cocktail-shaking mixologists, cheerleaders and chefs put on demonstrations throughout the weekend, giving onlookers the chance to learn how to cook dishes including green curry and pad Thai noodles.

Shopping bags were filled with goodies such as locally produced organic fruit and vegetables, bread, jams and ginger ale.

Visitors were also given the chance to take part in a free 'taste trail' where they could sample British, Italian, Spanish and Thai cuisine at 13 Leamington restaurants and cafes.

Everyone taking part was asked to rate each establishment with gold, silver or bronze and entered into a prize draw to win dinner for two at the winning venue.

The Newbold Bar and Brasserie was one of the participating eateries. Owner Mark Benton said: "We were delighted at the number of people that visited us over the two days.

The majority of people were new customers and it was a great way to show them the quality of food that we offer."

The festival was organised by the Business Improvement District, which was set up earlier this year to help improve prospects for businesses across Leamington.

Executive director Helen Smith said: "We're delighted that the festival has been such as fantastic success. All the exhibitors reported significant sales, many doubling what they would normally take over a weekend.

"The 'taste trail' was incredibly popular - you could feel the buzz as you walked around the town and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the Pump Room Gardens. We're already extremely excited about next year's festival".
