The young man who died after being hit by a train in Leamington on Sunday has been named as Tim Alfred.
He was a second year mathematics, operational research, statistics and economics student at Warwick University.

The university have said Mr Alfred, 20, was an "active and popular" member of the student body who worked as a floor representative for his halls of residence during his first year.

University vice-chancellor Prof Nigel Thrift said: "The death of such a young member of the university community hits all members of the university particularly hard, especially friends and staff who knew them well.

"We offer our sincere condolences to his family and his friends as they come to terms with their tragic loss."

University staff and support professionals are working to help those students who were closest to Tim.

Mr Alfred's family, said to be from Berkshire, have formally identified his body.

The incident happened on Chiltern Railway's mainline near the former Ford Foundry and was reported at 4.19pm.

Transport police are investigating Mr Alfred's death but are not treating it as suspicious.
