Beauchamp Avenue residents continue to fear vandalism to their property as their requests for CCTV are denied.
In September last year the Courier reported how arson attacks and criminal damage to cars had become a regular occurrence in the Leamington street and its surrounding area.

At the time Sean McGarr, who lives in the road, spoke of the problems after his car had been set alight on the morning of August 28.

He said: “I have lived in London, Newcastle, Glas- gow and San Francisco and I have never seen this type of damage so often.”

Mr McGarr was supported by other residents in his proposal for security cameras to be installed in the street.

John Heather, who has lived in Beauchamp Avenue for more than 15 years, said: “It is really about seeing what the council can do about monitoring the area and putting more surveillance in.”

But ,despite the vandalism continuing, Mr McGarr explained this week that he feels no action has been taken.

He said: ”The council has done nothing so far. Within a four-street area the problem is endemic.”

Since last summer Mr McGarr has woken to see cars dented, a neighbour’s car spray-painted and his own new car scratched twice.

He said: “The individual police officers are concerned but there are not enough of them.
