Guerilla knitters can get creative and transform Burton Green with colourful tree cosies in a brand new community venture this summer.
Made in Burton Green 2014 will include a brand new ‘yarn-bombing’ project to bring woodland to life alongside an arts and crafts exhibition and scarecrow competition along the Greenway in June.
The idea behind the event to showcase talent around the village is for “guerilla knitters” to get creating and crocheting to decorate trees, benches and grassland in woodland alongside a chosen footpath.
Groups including schools, knitting clubs and family and friends are now being encouraged to adopt a tree and make it their own, using a theme to focus their work.
The event will be held in the last weekend of June as part of Warwickshire Open Studios. Yarn-bombing and scarecrows will remain in place until July 13.
Made in Burton Green is about showcasing local artistic talent and bringing the community together.
