PENSIONER Joyce Evans presented a certificate of appreciation to one of the women who helps to maintain her independence in her own home during a Community Care Awareness Day.
The Mayor of Warwick, Cllr Elizabeth Higgins, was invited to open the special event at The Gap in Oakwood Grove last Friday. It was the first of its kind organised by local company SureCare.
Director Desiree Lambert invited older and disabled people to hear more about the wide range of services available including meal deliveries, the mobile library, dog walking, gardening and personal assistants.
She also invited 86-year-old Mrs Evans to present the certificate to Tammy Reading, one of the carers who regularly visits her home to look after her needs.
Tammy said: “We work as a team to support our clients at home and will always go the extra mile to provide a service that maintains dignity and privacy.”
The mayor looked at the home adaptations available and also presented badges to staff for their efforts to maintain clients’ dignity.
