The Running Man dance craze has come to Leamington after firefighters got in the spirit to spread word of the importance of smoke alarms.
The light-hearted dance video made by members of the town crew has already had more than 20,000 views since its launch this week, and hopes to encourage everybody in the area to test their smoke alarms.
A force spokesperson said that the online craze being taken up by lifesavers across the country was all about having fun while promoting safety.
And that their efforts were already doing an incredible job.
“We have already topped 20,000 views in less than 24 hours, so well done,” he said.
“The crew set up and filmed the video which has been done across the country using the strong message that smoke alarms save lives.
“Thank you to the guys and girls at Leamington for taking time to make this funny video and promote the message in a memorable way.”
He also stressed that the video was not filmed during the staff’s working hours.
The short clip is accompanied by messages about testing smoke alarms, and coincides with Test it Tuesday where people are encouraged to make sure the alarms in their homes are fully working in case of emergency.
