60 civil engineering students attended the site on Tuesday March 14, and saw the new the station and platform foundations and the sewer diversion.

After the tour, Dr Gary Fowmers at the School of Engineering for the University of Warwick said: “The School of Engineering would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at the site for providing the opportunity for our students to attend their Kenilworth Station project.

“These practical site visits are invaluable for the students to see theory being put into practice, and this project was of particular benefit as it introduced some of the logistical challenges of working in a residential area and the importance of working with multiple stakeholders, especially the local community.”

The station is expected to be operational for passengers in December this year after several delays to the project.
