The 23-year-old was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) after officers stopped his car in Shakespeare Avenue, Warwick, following reports that a man had been approaching the girls at the school and sixth form in Tapping Way last week, on January 28 and 30.

Det Sgt Gareth Keyte said: “As a result of reports of young girls being approached by a man in a white car, Warwickshire Police increased patrols in the area.

“No offences have been disclosed and no one has been harmed, but we would like to reassure members of the public that we take all such reports very seriously.

“We would ask parents to reiterate safety advice to their children and if anyone sees anything which causes them concern, they should contact the police.”

Anyone who is aware of any suspicious activity is urged to call police on 101, or if they see what they believe to be a crime in action they should dial 999.
