Tributes for former mayor

TRIBUTES have been paid to “best known and loved” councillor and former town mayor, Jack Bastock who died this month.

Mr Bastock sat as mayor of Kenilworth in 1985 and 1993 and has been described as a “highly respected” councillor and “true supporter of the town” by former colleagues.

He was a member of Kenilworth Town and Warwick District council for many years as a Liberal and then as a Liberal Democrat.

Mr Bastck was born in Kenilworth and lived in the town all his life, leaving behind his wife, Muriel.

Town councillors have paid tribute, describing him as “probably the best-known and best-loved of all councillors of his era” who will be missed.

His funeral is to be arranged in the town.
