Town blogger comes top in national competition
A KENILWORTH blogger has been awarded first prize in a competition which recognises the best parenting blogs in the country.
Ben Wakeling, author and freelance writer, won the ‘outstanding’ category in the Britmums Brilliance in Blogging Awards 2012.
The competition itself began a few months ago when tens of thousands of people nominated their favourite blogs via the Britmums’ website.
The top eight blogs nominated in each category were then independently judged, with the winner announced on Friday.
Mr Wakeling said: “The most important prize came under the ‘outstanding’ category, where my blog - Goodbye, Pert Breasts, which deals with all aspects of parenting from a father’s perspective in a hilarious way - was up against seven of the country’s leading blogs. And I won.”
Katy Hill, from Blue Peter who judged this category, said: “Ben is an uber-talented blogger who will appeal as much to men as women.”
