Special team putting in over double the hours
Volunteer police specials in Kenilworth have been praised for their dedication and hard work after clocking in more than double their hours on the streets.
The team of five specials is expected to put in around 80 hours worth of time to the role each month.
But the dedicated group has stacked up an impressive 211 hours over the past four weeks, putting them well above target and showing their commitment to making a difference in the town.
PC Pete King, beat manager described it as “fantastic” for the town and residents.
“They are really doing their bit and that is brilliant, so big thanks to them for putting in the time,” he said.
Chair Pauline Edwards, said of Kenilworth’s Community Forum welcomed the news and said: “We really do appreciate this time and the hard work they have put in considering that they are volunteers and this is all their own time.
“They do an absolutely incredible job and we are very grateful to have them in the town doing so much.”
