Olympic dream for pupils

PUPILS have been inspired to get into the water to try synchronised swimming and diving - and even race top Olympic professionals.

Year 5 pupils from St Augustine’s School attended the British Swimmers’ Heroes Tour at the Coventry Sports Centre on Monday where they got to meet their sporting heroes.

A whole host of top Olympic and Paralympic swimmers took part in the day to help inspire the next generation to get into the pool.

The event was sponsored by British Gas and children enjoyed activities including synchronised swimming, water polo and diving - and they were even lucky enough to race against the country’s swimming heroes. Teachers from the school said the children were “very excited” and “truly inspired” by the whole day.
