New waste recycling scheme

Recyling levels will be ramped up with the collection of more plastic which previously could only be put out with the rubbish.

Tubs for butter and spreads, yoghurt, biscuit and meat trays and fruit punnets will be collected by Warwick District Council.

The collections officially start from April 1 and thousdands of bigger recyling bags are being delivered to homes .

However, the new collections do not include cling film, plastic wrappings , bags and flower pots.

And black plastic ready-meal containers and tubs will still have to be put out with the rubbish. A recycling roashow will take place today (Thursday) from 2pm-4pm at Asda, Chesterton Drive, Leamington. While on Tuesday, March 26, from 12.30pm-1.30pm, recyling staff will be at Acre Close shopping centre, Whitnash.
