New leads needed to help catch burglars
POLICE are calling for people to step forward and help them finally find a door-to-door salesman in ongoing investigations after a woman’s purse was stolen.
Officers investigating a distraction burglary which took place back in June want to hear from anyone who may have bought goods from a door to door sales person.
On Tuesday June 26, an 86-year-old woman bought some household goods from a caller at the door who she allowed into her house.
She later discovered her purse containing bank cards and cash was missing.
Police would like to hear from anyone else in the Kenilworth area who bought property from a door step caller selling household goods at the end of June.
In particular, from anyone who paid for their goods with a cheque, which police may be able to use to trace to the suspect’s bank account.
Anyone with information which may help trace the offender should contact DC Alex Lynch on 01926 415000 extension 4141, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
