Mother to advise on special education needs
PARENTS worried that their child may have special education needs can learn more at a talk by an expert mother and author as part of a regular talk event.
Special People - an Kenilworth based autism support group - will welcome mother-of-four and author of The Velvet Buldozer, Sandy Row, on Wednesday November 7 to talk about how to get the right diagnosis, appropriate support and if necessary a Statement of Special Educational Needs for children.
Sandy has four adopted children with special educational needs and wrote the book to help give advice and information about where to go for answers and help to others.
The support group holds four talks a year and has invited Sandy to share her expertise in getting through the Special Educational Needs system to help anyone who is worried that their child may be in need of help for areas not limited to autism. The event will take place at the Holiday Inn from 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 and available by calling 0845 680 1926.
