Man trapped between van and lorry at Warwick services
A MAN was trapped between his van and a lorry in an incident at the Warwick services on the M40 yesterday (Monday).
The 63-year-old suffered injuries to both legs after he had stopped to check his oil and was caught when a lorry reversed up to where he was standing.
He was taken to the University Hospital in Coventry, underwent surgery on his legs and is still in hospital, due to undergo further treatment.
The man’s car was a red Mercedes sprinter van and the lorry is described as being a silver lorry with a blue electric tail lift and a British number plate. The driver of the lorry drove off onto the northbound carriageway following the incident, which occurred at around 8.10am.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in or near to the garage forecourt on the northbound carriageway between 7.45am and 8.15am to get in touch. Officers are also trying to trace the driver of the lorry, who may be unaware of what had happened.
Anyone with information should call Pc Sharon Coldrick on 415415.
