Man dies in Porsche crash in Warwickshire

A MAN has died after the car he was driving crashed into a telegraph pole near Ryton-on-Dunsmore.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred on the A45 at around 1.15am yesterday (Sunday).

It is believed that the driver, a 26-year-old man from Leamington, lost control of the car he was driving, a black Porsche, which struck the pole and trees, before coming to rest on the nearside verge.

The driver was taken to the University Hospital in Coventry, but died shortly afterwards.

The road was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to attend the scene and to make the road safe for other road users.

Any witnesses to the collision or who saw the Porsche or any other vehicles driving towards Coventry on the A45 at around 1am on Sunday morning are asked to call police on 415415.
