Life-saving news for Burton Green thanks to generous donation
A LIFE-saving defibrillator could be on the way for Burton Green after £500 was granted to buy a secure box to house it in.
Members of the village Residents Association are now eagerly awaiting news on a second funding bid to fund the machine which they hope to house outside the village hall following calls from residents.
Thanks to the “generous donation” for the box from Warwick District community Forum, they are halfway there and members said if the £1,00 bid from the Heart of England is not successful, they will rally up and raise the cash themselves.
Mary Webb, deputy chair, said they simply want to make residents as safe as possible - especially with the threat of High Speed Rail to cut right though the village.
“Safety is of great importance to us,” she said. “With the threat of HS2, we have been looking to help alleviate stress for elderly residents. We cant reassure people about that but we can give support in other ways.”
