Leamington burglary suspect arrested

A LEAMINGTON man has been arrested on suspicion of committing a burglary at a home in the town this morning (Wednesday).

The 23-year-old was arrested after police received a call from a woman who had returned to her home in St Mary’s Terrace at 9am to find a window at the front had been smashed. As she opened the door, she heard the sound of glass smashing at the back of her home and ran back out to the pavement.

Officers arrived very quickly and after searching the area, arrested the suspect.

A laptop and other items believed to belong to the woman were recovered by officers nearby. Jewellery including cufflinks were also stolen.

The 23 year old is currently in police custody where he will be questioned later today.
