Join carol singing at Kenilworth Castle on Saturday

Dulcet tones will ring out in Kenilworth on Saturday) evening as the Lions Christmas Carol event is held.

Kenilworth Castle will provide the acoustics for the concert which will include an hour of carols, readings and music.

The event is organised by Kenilworth Lions.

During the evening the Salvation Army band, St Augustine's School choir and Clinton School steel band will provide the music. There will also be hot soup and punch.

Gates open from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Adults 3, children free.

Town mayor Coun Spencer Harrison and MP Jeremy Wright will be there.

On December 21 the Lions will distribute Christmas parcels to the Kenilworth elderly and housebound.

The parcels are funded by Kenilworth Lions and prepared by Sainsbury's.

And on Boxing Day, the traditional annual duck race will make a return at the Kenilworth Ford.

The race begins at noon and the ducks will make their way through Kenilworth's Abbey Fields.

To back a duck costs 1 per ticket and there are four prizes of 100, 75, 50 and 25. Tickets are available on the day and in advance from some local shops.
